Aug 19, 2020 The latest version of Eudora is 8.0 on Mac Informer. It is a perfect match for E-mail in the Communication category. The app is developed by QUALCOMM Incorporated and its user rating is 2.6 out of 5. Eudora Light (from here on referred to as Eudora) is a free electronic mail (email) program written by Steve Dorner of Qualcomm Inc. It uses the Post Office Protocol (POP) and connects to a server to download your mail to your Macintosh.
Eudora 6 has several new features. Complete information about the new features is available on Qualcomm's Eudora web site. This download is available for OS 10.2 and later only. If you use Mac 10.1.x, use Eudora 5.2.1, which is available on the Previous Software Versions page.

Reading certain messages in Eudora for Mac OSmay cause your computer to lock up. The symptoms of this probleminclude:
- Messages that transfer fine until a certain messagenumber.
- Messages you've already seen and read that download again eachtime you connect.
- Messages you've deleted from your POP account thatstill download, even though they don't show up anywhere.
Following is a list of possible causes of and solutions to thisproblem:
- Out of memory: Eudora may run out ofmemory, particularly if you are downloading messages withlarge attachments. For information about how to increase Eudora'sRAM allocation, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: With Mac OS, how can I allocate more memory to an application?
- Over quota: You could be over quota on your POPaccount. Use telnet to connect to your POP account anddelete any messages and files you no longer need. For moreinformation, see the Knowledge Base document Make better use of your disk space in Unix
- Corrupt Inbox: It's possible your Inbox iscorrupt. Use telnet to connect to your POP account and open thePine mail program. If Pine hangs when it attempts toaccess your incoming mail folder, this is the likely culprit. Whenthis happens, contact your account provider's technical support. AtIU, if your POP account is on the UITS central systems, contact the UITS Support Center. For more information, see theKnowledge Base document Contact your campus IT Support CenterIf Pine doesn't hang, theproblem may still be with the individual message on which Eudora islocking up. Try deleting that message and see if the problem clearsup.
- Locked POP process: Finally, you may have alocked POP process still running. Try to locate and kill the process. For more information, see the Knowledge Base documents See your remaining processes from former sessions in Unix and Kill a Unix login session remotely
